Below are my minimum prices in $ USD. The final price will depend on the details of your project, licensing needs, deadlines, and any special requests.
This category is typical for key art, cover art, and narrative scenes.
$500-1000+ anime/lined styles (1-4 views)
$1000-2000+ painted style (1-2 views)
+ hourly fee for design & editing phase.
Price is affected if extras are necessary, such as detailed props, accessories, and additional sketches/renders.
I'm also available for concepting single elements, patterns, and objects by themselves or in batches.
Starting at $40.
If you want me to design a character, scene, etc. but don't need a fully rendered sheet, I can do some informal concept sketching for you. I usually do characters and character sheets but can also sketch for buildings, creatures, single items, icons, etc.
The actual sketches can be lines only, black & white, colored, or have clean lineart so the price can differ a lot or may be done on an hourly basis. Please let me know what you're looking for. (Colored character full-body sketches are usually $60-120 per sketch, depending on how complicated they are.)
I can also work in other art styles:
Below are some examples of my earlier artwork in different styles (watercolor, pencil, sketchy, etc.). I have experience dealing with different types of painting processes, color palettes, lineart, and some specific styles, so I may be able to adjust to different style requirements for illustrations, sketching, concept art, etc. If you are thinking of a different style than my usual but still think I can do it, please let me know!
*Also: you can see my older 2018-2020 gallery and my Instagram posts from 2020 and previous.
Please gather all descriptions, reference images, and requirements into one document (Google Doc, Word, PDF, Dropbox Paper, etc.), and send any instructions as detailed as possible. This helps me understand your request clearly and easily reference it while I am working.
I usually start by sending several line sketches. When you choose one you like, I'll send you one or more rough colorings for review. Once you approve it, I'll work on the final illustration, and I'll update you about once every 1-2 weeks. You may request edits throughout the process.
Typically, 2-4 sketches and 2-4 edits on the final illustration are included for free, depending on the size of work. Extra sketching or editing is charged by an additional hourly rate.
You will receive the final illustration JPG/PNG and PSD at 4k resolution (~4000 px).
*Let me know if you need any special requirements for the process or the final artwork (more sketching, number of edits, layer creation, file size, deadlines, character views, etc.) and I'll be happy to adjust.
Sketch vs. Final. Card illustrations for Forgotten Times TCG.
Example of painting progress updates. I usually send updates once a week.
The painting is usually very loose until the middle of the process, so feel free to suggest edits during development.
If you'd like to see my process in detail, I post full process videos on my YouTube channel.
Additional helpful information about my commission work. Feel free to ask me for any other questions.
The Artist keeps full copyright ownership of commissioned artwork and is free to reproduce, distribute, adapt, and sell it for any purpose, such as showing WIP, selling prints/wallpapers, and licensing to third parties, unless negotiated otherwise.
I will give you a rights package to use the artwork according to terms and pricing we discuss together. (i.e. personal use, commercial use, exclusive rights, privacy term, etc.) The price may change depending on what kind of license is needed.
*You will not receive copyright ownership of the artwork unless a full buyout is discussed.(500% price minimum).
I will send you an online payment invoice link. I accept:
Credit/Debit card
Bank transfer/ACH/SEPA
Wise transfer
Zelle (smaller payments <$100)
& more depending on country/currency (Sofort, iDEAL, etc.)
Usually 50% is paid upfront before any sketching starts, and the rest is paid when the color sketch is approved. This allows me to work without any delays.
I do NOT take PayPal. (It has many issues as reported by the artist and general freelancing community.) I use Stripe, a secure & reputable processor, for the majority of my payments, and Wise for some international payments.
Yes, all of my illustrations are completely hand-painted and originally composed from a blank canvas. I do not use any AI generators or photo bashing.
You can see my timelapse process videos on YouTube: youtube.com/@nyx_aurelia. Normal-speed video is also available from my Gumroad store.
Commission work will be video recorded when possible. You may request the full normal-speed or timelapse process video of your commission if necessary.
The working time will differ depending on how long it takes to communicate on updates and edits. I always work faster if you can provide quick communication and more creative freedom with the artwork.
Yes! If you need art for a game, book, etc. and find that one of my existing artworks or designs fits your project, please ask me and I'll let you know if it's available for license.
Artworks that were previous commissions may also be available. It depends on the artwork.
This can be a great way of saving money for certain projects, especially card games and other places where custom art is not necessarily needed. If you are looking for larger usage like advertising, product packaging, etc, or an exclusive license, the fee will be in proportion.
